Nearly two months after his death, authorities in Georgia have more information about what killed a 31-year-old local social media content creator. Loved ones found Jiare Schneider, who was known to his followers as @big_homie_tootall on TikTok, dead in the woods a week and a half after reporting him missing. And now they’re questioning why it took so long to solve his case.

A representative from the Clayton County Police Department told TMZ that Schneider died as a result of “injuries sustained in a car crash.” Although they’ve concluded that there was nothing suspicious about the accident, police haven’t determined whether or not the crash was alcohol or drug-related.

“We did find the vehicle deep in the woodlice, which indicates there was a fast speed approaching the intersection,” Clayton County Police Department spokesperson Lt. Ricky Porter told FOX 5 Atlanta in an interview.

Those closest to Schneider believe he may have been on his way to “a content house,” where local creators go to make videos for social media, at the time of his death. However, family friend Germequa Bell told Fox 5 that they began to worry when Schneider left home on November 15 and didn’t return. According to Fox 5 his loved ones stepped up their search after what they say was a “lack of urgency” from the police. Bell says they eventually found Schneider’s body in a wooded area inside a silver Toyota 4Runner.

“This morning, a group of us gathered, and we came out here, and we went to the woods – and there he was. We knew when he disappeared that something was up,” she said.

As those who loved Schneider try to cope in the aftermath of his untimely death, they wonder why authorities dragged their feet on his case, and their thoughts are with the young son he leaves behind.

“His son, that’s all we can think about. His son,” Bell told Fox 5.
