Nevada officials held a press conference Wednesday night to update the press on the status of Lamar Odom and the investigation surrounding his hospitalization. On Tuesday, Odom was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada and was rushed to a local hospital.
In the 911 call released Wednesday, a woman from the Love Ranch brothel says in a panicked state, "There's blood coming out of his nose" and "white stuff coming out of his mouth." She continues, "Also, he's not breathing."
A brothel employee can be overheard stating that the last time Odom had cocaine was Saturday, even though the brothel owner, Dennis Hof, later said in media reports that Odom had only taken an herbal-Viagra substance.
In a second call, Richard Hunter, Love Ranch's media director, tells 911 that Odom is "breathing regularly—he's snoring a little bit." Odom is "over on his side" and making sounds like "a couple of whimpers. He's got a little bit of fluid coming from his nose and his mouth. It's kind of a pinkish color."
According to NBC News, Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly said that authorities have figured out that Odom was using cocaine Saturday, the day he checked into the brothel in Crystal, Nev. Currently, blood tests are under way to figure out what else could be in his system.
The total time that elapsed between the initial 911 call and the ambulance's arrival at the brothel, transporting Odom to the local hospital and then driving him to another hospital in Las Vegas was over three hours because he was too large for helicopter transport. Authorities said, however, that the sequence of events did not impact his condition.
At Odom's side at the hospital were members of the Kardashian family; the Rev. Jesse Jackson; Odom's father, Joe Odom; and Lamar Odom's two teenage children. Since Lamar Odom is not officially divorced from Khloe Kardashian, she is the one in charge of the medical decisions.
Odom is currently on life support at the Las Vegas hospital and reportedly has suffered brain damage and a series of strokes.
