Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Dante Cunningham is again in trouble with the law. He was arrested Sunday on suspicion of making terroristic threats, his second arrest in less than a week.

Cunningham, 26, was charged Thursday with felony domestic assault in an incident involving his girlfriend. The woman told police that Cunningham attacked her during an argument early that morning in his suburban Minneapolis home, the Associated Press reports.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court, the woman, who isn't named in the complaint, told police that Cunningham kicked down a locked bedroom door, grabbed her around the neck and slammed her against a wall. The woman, who had been in a relationship with Cunningham for the past eight months, also said that Cunningham choked her for 15 to 20 seconds, during which she could not breathe. According to the report, the woman did not require medical treatment.

The AP reports that Cunningham was charged with one felony count of domestic assault by strangulation and was released Friday. Cunningham missed the Timberwolves' win over the Miami Heat but rejoined the team in Orlando, Fla., in time to play in Saturday night's loss to the Magic.

Cunningham started the game and played for 34 minutes, scoring 12 points.

Although it is unclear what Cunningham may have done to be arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats, according to Minnesota law, a "terroristic threats" charge applies in situations where someone directly or indirectly threatens to commit violence with the purpose of terrorizing someone else, Sports Illustrated reports.

In a statement issued on Sunday about Cunningham's first arrest, the Timberwolves said that the organization would continue to monitor his "very fluid" situation.

"We reiterate that the Minnesota Timberwolves do not condone the behavior described in the accusations. We continue to wait for the legal process to run its course and will have further comment when appropriate."
