When it rains it pours for neo-Nazi Christopher Cantwell, and it looks like his crying won’t be done anytime soon now that he has to get comfy in jail.
According to CBS 19 Newsplex, Cantwell, who is facing several felonies in connection with the “illegal use of gases, and injury by caustic agent or explosive” during the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., was initially granted a $25,000 bond. However, the commonwealth of Virginia was not happy with the decision, appealing the bond and prompting another hearing to be scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Prosecutors argued that Cantwell posed a flight risk and a risk to public safety.
Cantwell’s attorney argued that his client had voluntarily turned himself in when the charges were announced and that evidence would prove that he was acting in self-defense, according to the news site.
Nonetheless, in the end, the judge reversed the decision, denying Cantwell his potential release ... and thus it’s probably more tears for Cantwell probably.
How sad. Too bad.
