According to WCNC-TV, James Blair, 51, will also register as a lifetime sex offender and is prohibited from having any contact with the victim. He has also been ordered to be under satellite monitoring whenever he is released from prison.

The victim is now 14 and is expected to give birth in the next couple of months. Blair was meant to be a mentor to the girl, whom he ended up abusing.

“She was a wonderful kid, but like I said, a kid with problems,” the child’s mother told the news station. “And then this officer steps in and says he’s going to make a difference. He made a difference, all right.

“I just think justice has been served,” she added, referring to Blair’s sentence. “He manipulated my daughter. He manipulated my family.”

The child’s mother said that the no-contact order was necessary because Blair has been trying to contact the victim from jail, making the situation even more difficult. The teen’s mother said that she is just trying to focus on raising her grandchild.

“For the baby, I found a place in my heart because God loves everybody and this baby is going to be very well loved,” she said.
