United Flight 967 from D.C. to Los Angeles hit an extreme patch of turbulence, causing passengers and flight attendants to be thrown around the cabin. Twenty people, including four flight attendants, were injured on the flight that left Dulles Airport heading to LAX. Although most of the injuries were mild, one person was critically injured. Passengers describe the plane dropping drastically and then recovering, which caused bodies to be tossed about the cabin. The plane was diverted to Denver, where passengers were met by rescue personnel.
