Looks like rap royalty Cardi B and husband Offset are already planning for their little princess to be a future mogul; according to documents obtained by The Blast, the new parents recently filed to trademark their 1-month-old daughter’s name.
Submitting the paperwork on August 2 under one of Offset’s companies, Sallie Smith, LLC, the couple hopes to register use of Kulture Kiari Cephus’s name “for the merchandising of shirts, sweaters, jackets, pants, skirts and footwear.”
Considering that Cardi and Offset are extremely fashion-forward, could this mean a Bardi Baby line might be in the works? After all, Cardi’s already collaborated with Steve Madden and Fashion Nova, and has quickly become the favorite of designers Christian Siriano and Jeremy Scott, who dressed her for the 2018 Met Gala (Offset and Migos coordinated in Versace).
Of course, just the idea of a Kulture Kiari baby line is intriguing—what fashions best epitomize the infant offspring of Offset and his Bodak Yellow bride? As usual, The Root crew shared a few ideas in Slack:
Michael Harriot (staff writer): Tiny pink infant furs?
Danielle Young (staff writer, producer, host, Judge of Characters): ... and 5-inch nails!
Michael Harriot: Do you have a pair of baby red bottoms and an electric blue body suit in a 3T?
Seriously, the possibilities are endless; but just in case Kulture decides to join the family business, trademarking her name will also protect her future entertainment empire by registering its use for all “musical recordings, motion pictures, entertainment marketing services, online video games, dance events by a recording artist and fan clubs.”
And if she doesn’t, I’m pretty sure her college fund has already been set aside, as well.
