With so many celebrities beefing for most of the year, it’s nice to see two of them show their maturity and rekindle a relationship after years of feuding.

While speaking with Variety during the premiere of “The Deliverance,” Mo’Nique revealed that she always had confidence in her relationship with Lee Daniels, saying, “He’s my friend. “You ever have somebody in your life where your chemistry is right there but something happened and it pulls you apart, but you don’t forget the heart of the person? You don’t forget the purity of this person and you say, ‘I’m willing to fight for this friendship.’”

When speaking about their first day on set of “The Deliverance,” Daniels said, “It was like, ‘We had been fighting all this time about what?’ But then it was just like, ‘OK, bitch, say your fucking line.’ She was like, ‘OK, Mr. Daniels!’”

Since Mr. Daniels doesn’t remember why he and Mo’Nique were beefing in the first place, let me remind him.

It reportedly started in 2009 during the promotional tour for the Academy-Award-winning film, “Precious,” which was directed and co-produced by Daniels. Allegedly, Mo’Nique was told that she would not be paid for any promo she was doing for the film despite her busy schedule. She also wanted a break after a long awards season and desired to spend time with her family.

This allegedly also frustrated Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, who were also producers on the 2009 film.

Mo’nique later alleged in a 2015 interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Daniels, Winfrey, and Perry “blackballed” her from the movie industry, leading to her not getting as many opportunities as she felt she deserved.

In April 2022, Daniels publicly apologized to Mo’Nique during a comedy show in New York, saying, “I’m so sorry for hurting in any way that I did.”
