(The Root) — Popular radio DJ Mister Cee has resigned from Hot 97 after yet another sex scandal.
He has been arrested several times for attempting to solicit sex from male prostitutes, at least one of whom was an undercover police officer. His resignation comes after audio of Mister Cee allegedly soliciting a drag queen named Bimbo Winehouse hit the Internet.
Hip Hop Wired quotes the DJ as saying, "Ain't nobody perfect, man. I have made my mistakes. But when it [affects] people that you came up with, you don't want to put them through it anymore. I'm just going to move on, man."
The Internet has been expressing sadness at his departure and discussing the issues of transphobia and homophobia surrounding the situation.
