On Thursday, Mariah Carey told The View's Barbara Walters that during the American Idol blowout with Nicki Minaj that made headlines this week, Minaj threatened to shoot her.
Not so, says Minaj, who told her side of the story on Twitter. From Rolling Out:
"The struggle to be a victim is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooooo. The struggle to not have the kid on the show is real in these streets. Lmaooooooooo," she wrote, making fun of Carey’s comments about her.
Minaj then took aim at Carey’s claims that she was threatened, denying that any threat ever happened and saying her status as a black rapper makes her a vulnerable target for such scrutiny.
"Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she's a black rapper. Lmao. I'll then hit up Barbara n milk it. Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz," she said. ("Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe also told TMZ that Minaj never threatened Carey).
Who knows what's really going on with these two? For now, one thing is clear: It's going down. Basement.
