Mike Huckabee Scolds Obamas for Letting Their Daughters Be Fans of Beyoncé

During an interview with People magazine, Mike Huckabee—the former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential-primary candidate—described how he is flabbergasted that President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama allow their daughters to be fans of Beyoncé, the New York Daily News reports.

“I don't understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything—how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school, and making sure they’re kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things,” Huckabee explained before going in for the jugular: “And yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé,” Huckabee told People magazine.

The ultraconservative, ordained Baptist minister is on a press tour to promote his new book, aptly titled, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy.

Huckabee is also apparently bothered by Beyoncé’s act and is concerned about how Jay Z is contributing to Beyoncé’s image as a “sex object”: 

“Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?" Huckabee inquired.
