The cameras may not have stayed long enough on Michelle Obama at Wednesday's March on Washington 50th-anniverary commemoration for anyone to notice, but she has sort of, kind of, gone blond. On Tuesday the first lady hosted a screening at the White House theater for a documentary called The Powerbroker: Whitney Young's Fight for Civil Rights, and The Cut took note of her new highlights.
Initial thoughts: The subtlety of the caramel color looks pretty, and this style — large waves around her face — looks polished but still relaxed. It's far less blunt than her bangs were at first. Our beauty editor suggests the highlights might mean she's going gray, because dark dye doesn't work as well on silvery hair, necessitating lighter pigments.
The Cut also analyzed her dress (designed by Nigerian designer Duro Olowu).
