Michelle Obama enlisted some heavy hitters in a new uplifting anthem dedicated to young women around the world. “This Is for My Girls” features Zendaya, Missy Elliott, Kelly Rowland, Lea Michele, Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monáe, Jadagrace and Chloe & Halle.
The song is part of the first lady’s call to action and supports both the Let Girls Learn initiative and the #62MillionGirls campaign.
The song, which was written by Diane Warren, was released Thursday morning and can be purchased on iTunes. What makes the song great is that not only are the A-list singers involved, but they also all did it for free!
Warren recalled working on the song: “It happened so fast—literally, Kelly Clarkson was singing her part in Nashville while we were almost mastering it,” she said. “So we dropped her vocals in. It was that crazy.”
