It looks like two of America's highest-profile black women are as starstruck by each other as the rest of us are by them.
In an open letter to Michelle Obama posted on her website last week, Beyoncé called the first lady the "ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman" and wrote, "no matter the pressure, and the stress of being under a microscope, she's humble, loving, and sincere. She builds and nurtures her family, while also looking out for so many millions in so many ways."
It seems that Michelle got wind of the note, which closes with, "I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you, to look up to." She responded to the singer via Twitter on Friday, returning the compliment:
@Beyoncé Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to. -mo
While they're both focusing their praise on the idea of role-modeling for young girls, it's becoming more and more clear — and, we might add, kind of cute — that these two are actually among each other's biggest fans.
