Lawyers for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death asked a federal judge Wednesday to dismiss the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the singer's father. Attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray argued in a court filing that Joe Jackson's complaint should be dismissed because the Jackson family patriarch is not a beneficiary of the singer's estate. Murray’s lawyers also argued that Dr. Murray is being singled out, when others could be responsible for the legendary singer's death, such as Dr. Arnold Klein, whom Murray alleges plied Jackson with drugs up until a week before his death. His attorneys also named seven other doctors who allegedly wrote prescriptions for the King of Pop. Joe Jackson filed the suit on June 25, 2010, the one-year anniversary of his son's death. He's seeking more than $75,000 in damages. Clearly Poppa Joe isn't after the money. He's obviously trying to prove the point that Dr. Murray is responsible for the death of his son. Just what is Dr. Murray trying to prove by failing to admit any culpability in the death of Michael Jackson?
