Filmmaker Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan first teamed up together on Fruitvale Station, the story of Oscar Grant’s killing at the hands of police officers in Oakland, Calif., which was a Sundance Film Festival hit. Now Coogler and Jordan are joining forces again, and this time, it’s sure to be another heavy hitter.

Creed, which is opening in November, is the latest addition to the Rocky franchise. It stars Jordan as Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Johnson. If you recall, Apollo, played by Carl Weathers, appeared in Rocky IV and died after fighting Drago. Although Jordan's character never met his father, who died before he was born, he has a love for boxing as well.

The trailer for the new movie is intense and leaves you wanting more. In one scene, a trainer reminds Johnson that boxing is what killed his father:

“Your Daddy died in the ring,” the trainer says.

“That got nothin’ to do with me,” Johnson responds.

It’s only after more than a minute into the trailer that Sylvester Stallone makes his appearance.

As Johnson is looking around at photos in a restaurant, Stallone comes out of the shadows.

“I heard about a third fight between you and Apollo, behind closed doors. Is that true?” Johnson asks.

“How do you know all this?” Rocky asks.

“I’m his son,” Johnson states.

And boom. There you have it, the first blockbuster of the fall.
