Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle somehow felt the need to reach out to King Charles III after the British monarch was diagnosed with cancer. Last week, the King reportedly underwent a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate at The London Clinic in London, and his doctors reportedly found cancer in the process.
Buckingham Palace released a statement that explained “during The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
The Buckingham Palace statement also expressed gratitude to the London Clinic, adding: “The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”
Meghan notoriously accused her father of betraying her trust and using her marriage to Prince Harry as a cash grab in the 2022 Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan.” The pair have had a fractured relationship for quite some time, but that didn’t stop Thomas from taking advantage of this recent moment to get back in the headlines.
The message to King Charles took place Monday, Feb. 5 through the Daily Mail. “I want to send my best wishes to King Charles and hope he gets well very soon,” Thomas said to the tabloid. “I wish him all the good wishes in the world.”
Recently, Markle Senior publicly pleaded with Meghan to see his grandchildren and claimed he hasn’t seen her in five years. In past years, however, Thomas has given paid interviews and even shared a private letter Meghan wrote to him with the press.
His most shocking move was releasing a documentary in 2020, “Thomas Markle: My Story,” where he comes for Meghan and her royal hubby.
