(The Root) — Meet Ginger Howard. She's 17 years old. She has 78 golf trophies, 41 of them for first place. She was named to Tiger Woods' Junior Golf Foundation back in 2003 and 2005, and now she has officially become a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, making her the youngest member ever. Not to mention, she's only the fifth black American woman to join the LPGA Tour.

Ginger has made national TV appearances on the John Walsh Show for Amazing Kids, Comcast SportsNet, NBC4 and George Michael Sports Machine and has been featured on ESPN.com and in the New York Times' Play Magazine. You might not know her yet, but we're thinking this young athlete's next title might be something like "household name."
