With the TikTok ban imminent, Meek Mill offers to come to the rescue. However, it appears nobody is taking the Philadelphia rapper seriously.
On Monday, the “Dreams and Nightmares” MC took to X to make a bold proclamation, writing, “Sell tik tok to me!”
In the legislation that President Joe Biden signed, the only way the popular social media app can stay present in the United States is if ByteDance Ltd, the Chinese internet technology company that owns it, sells the app to a U.S. company by Jan. 19.
So if Meek Mill did in fact have the money to buy TikTok, he could save the app. Unfortunately, nobody believes he does, leading to some harsh responses to his post on X.
Meek is known to post tweets that don’t always go over well with the larger hip-hop community, which leads to him being the butt of many jokes and memes. After people dunked on his dream of buying TikTok, Meek wrote in another post on X, “If they cut off tik tok we going x and FANBASE.”
While many users continued to clown him, Fanbase is a great Black-owned option that may be a great alternative for many social media lovers.
Founded by Isaac Hayes III, the son of the legendary soul singer, in 2018, the Atlanta-based social media company allows users to easily get paid through the content they create and share, whether that’s photos, videos, or music.
For users who want exclusive content from their favorite creators, there is a subscription option that allows users to further support the people they follow, according to the app’s website.
Although you are encouraged to subscribe, it is not required for you to enjoy the app. It’s free to follow anyone on the platform and free to download on Apple and Google’s app stores.
