Philadelphia MC Beanie Sigel, formerly associated with Jay-Z, and Nashville's Young Buck, formerly associated with 50 Cent, were each sentenced to prison this week. Sigel, born Dwight Grant, was ordered to serve two years, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
U.S. District Judge Jan E. Dubois ordered the Philadelphia native to report to prison Sept. 12.
From 2003 through 2005, Sigel, 38, failed to pay more than $348,000 in taxes, prosecutors said.
Sigel pleaded guilty in August to failing to file federal income-tax returns for that period.
Young Buck was sentenced to 18 months in prison for gun charges earlier this week, according to Nashville's News Channel 5.
The artist, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. After he gets out of prison, he'll be on supervised release for three years.
Later this month, the IRS will auction off thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry, art, and recording equipment seized from his home, for non-payment of taxes.
