Fifty Shades of Grey wasn’t originally a comedy, but after sitting through the first 30 minutes of the movie, you realize the joke is definitely on the viewer. Sure, it wasn’t meant to be funny, but the best-selling book-turned-hit movie definitely garnered its fair share of criticism and laughs. Now it’s about to become a parody thanks to the king of parodies, Marlon Wayans.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Open Road Films has acquired Wayans’ Fifty Shades of Black, which he’ll star in and write, along with Rick Alvarez. Wayans and Alvarez previously worked together on A Haunted House and White Chicks.
Wayans became the king of parodies with the Haunted House movie series and Scary Movie and its sequel. A movie plot has yet to be revealed for Fifty Shades of Black, but I’m quite sure there will be lots of funny scenes with whips and whatever else Fifty Shades of Grey offended people with.
