Mariah Carey says she was mortified after her Times Square New Year's Eve performance became the laughing stock of Dick Clark's annual Rockin' New Year's Eve show.
In her first interview about the show, Carey spoke with Entertainment Weekly, and described the night as "a horrible New Year's Eve," but said it won't stop her from doing other live shows.
"But it will make me less trusting of using anyone outside of my own team," Carey stated.
Carey's team spoke out about the performance and said people at Dick Clark Productions were well aware of the technical issues that existed before the singer went live. And Carey said if Clark were alive, he would have prevented the fiasco.
"I'm of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time," she said.
One thing's for sure, she wasn't mortified when that check cleared.
