For months, Simon Cowell has shot down rumors that Mariah Carey would be a judge on his highly anticipated show X-Factor, but recently he's been singing a different tune.
During a recent radio interview with Jackie Brown, Cowell confirmed that we can expect to see the songstress on the show this fall. "I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows," Cowell confirmed. "I met her recently, and she was in great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."
Only Carey and mega-producer L.A. Reid are confirmed for the cast so far. Cowell's former American Idol co-judge Paula Abdul, Nicki Minaj, Jessica Simpson and British star Cheryl Cole are the rumored judges, and Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls is a potential host. X-Factor auditions are currently taking place around the country, and the show is slated to begin in September on Fox.
Carey, who is eight months pregnant with twins, recently made headlines for posing nude for Life and Style magazine and OK!. Carey is set to have the babies in a matter of weeks, so we wouldn't be surprised if she became a full-time judge by the time September rolls around. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
