Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcomed twins on Saturday, the same day that marked the couple's fourth wedding anniversary.
"My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!" Cannon tweeted on Saturday. "I won't ever be able to top this!" Cannon appeared to be so nervous when they arrived to the hospital that he wheeled his wife to the wrong section and had to be guided to the maternity ward by a nurse.
Carey gave birth at 12:07 p.m., according to her rep Cindi Berger. The baby girl was reportedly born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and her brother weighed in at 5 pounds, 6 ounces. Berger told People magazine that the couple was listening to "We Belong Together" after the children were born. The couple has yet to choose names for the babies.
Carey and Cannon announced their pregnancy in October of last year. Shortly after marrying in 2008, the couple got pregnant, but Carey miscarried, something the two admitted only during their latest pregnancy. Carey has said that she doesn't plan on having more children after this.
Only Mariah Carey would play her own music during such an occasion. Congratulations to the happy couple.
