For all of you who were guessing which "M" names Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were going to bestow upon their newborn twins, the wait is over.
The couple finally announced the twins' names on Carey's official website: Moroccan Scott and Monroe. The couple's daughter was named after Marilyn Monroe because the starlet served as an inspiration to Carey. Moroccan's name was inspired by a room in Carey's New York City apartment, which also marked the place where Cannon proposed to the songstress.
Cannon and Carey chose "Scott" in honor of Cannon's own middle name and his grandmother's maiden name. The couple's daughter did not receive a middle name because Carey herself does not have one.
Moroccan Scott and Monroe were born last Saturday on their parents' third wedding anniversary. Carey and Cannon renewed their wedding vows — an annual tradition for the two — in the hospital with the help of none other than the Rev. Al Sharpton.
