Earl Valentine is facing first-degree murder charges for the death of his 15-year-old son. He also shot and critically wounded his ex-wife, Keisha Valentine, in her home in Norlina, N.C., according to the New York Daily News.
After shooting both his son and ex-wife, Valentine took to Facebook Live to confess early Tuesday.
"What’s up, everybody? I just killed my [expletive] wife,” he said in the video. “I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming."
According to the Daily News, after his attack, Valentine called the police and told them that he was on his way to Richmond, Va., to kill more family members.
It's unclear whether or not Valentine meant to harm his son, since it is believed that his son may have tried to intervene to protect his mother.
When Valentine fled the scene, his son called the police to report the attack. He later died from his injuries, but his mother remains alive in critical condition at a local hospital.
"I don't feel no remorse for what I did," said Valentine.
Police are searching the entire state, as well as parts of South Carolina and Virginia, for Valentine. In the meantime, they are also protecting his family while the hunt continues.
"When we spoke to him on the phone, he told us he is basically armed and dangerous," Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew said.
