A man allegedly beat a 15-year-old girl at a park in the Bronx borough of New York City, sexually assaulted her and then attempted to wash off his DNA evidence on her body by forcing her into a river, the New York Daily News reports.
The man reportedly attacked the teen at Bronx Park, where she blacked out three times after he choked her and pummeled her head. He then ripped off her pants, assaulted her and then forced her to wash away evidence at a nearby river.
According to the Daily News, the girl met her attacker at a subway station around 4 a.m. Monday after coming back from a friend's house in Staten Island, N.Y.
"We believe she fought back hard," said New York City Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce. "She was severely physically assaulted."
The victim was taken to Montefiore Medical Center after someone found her near the river, wet and not wearing pants.
Police are now looking for her attacker, who is described as a black man, about 25 years old, 5 feet 10, with a medium build.
