Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has become known for saying the most ignorant things known to man. So sadly it’s no surprise that she made ridiculous remarks about the government and humans “controlling” dangerous weather as Florida grapples with the devastation of Hurricane Milton.

Recently, Greene wrote on X, “Yes, they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.”

Then on Oct. 5, Greene shared Greene shared a 9-year-old news clip where a scientist was asked about using lasers to control the weather.

The scientist replied that it’s only experimental and can just be done in a lab. Greene’s remarks, like this one, have caused a slew of outrage and backlash. Here are some of her worst quotes to date.

Last year, Greene victimized herself with a ridiculous comparison following a heated confrontation outside the Capitol with Democratic congressman Jamaal Bowman. “Jamaal Bowman [was] shouting at the top of his lungs, cursing, calling me a horrible … calling me a white supremacist which I take great offense to that. It’s like calling a person of color the N-word which should never happen. Calling me a white supremacist is equal to that. That is wrong.”

As Florida deals with the harrowing reality of Hurricane Milton, Greene insisted in October 2024 that “they” (meaning humans/federal government) are controlling the weather. Her claims were so outrageous that even President Biden had to correct her. “It’s beyond ridiculous. It’s got to stop. Moments like this, there are no red or blue states,” he stated.

Two years ago, Greene tweeted a doctored video that depicted Biden with a Hitler-style mustache and an audio clip of the former German leader and Nazi symbols after he criticized the MAGA movement. In a different tweet, she wrote: “Joe Biden is Hitler. #NaziJoe has to go.” Greene continued: “I guess when President Butterbeans is frail, weak, and dementia ridden, the Hitler imagery was their attempt to make him look “tough” while he declares war on half of America as enemies of the state.”

During a Trump rally in Mesa, Arizona in 2022, Greene promoted the racist “great replacement theory” by stating: “Joe Biden’s 5 million illegal aliens are on the verge of replacing you, replacing your jobs and replacing your kids in school and, coming from all over the world, they’re also replacing your culture. And that’s not great for America.”

In 2020, recordings obtained by Politico showed Greene describing Islamic nations under Sharia law as places where men have sex with “little boys, little girls, multiple women” and “marry their sisters” and “their cousins.” The representative also implied that in the 2018 midterms—which contained the most diverse class of House freshmen —was part of “an Islamic invasion of our government” and that “anyone that is a Muslim that believes in Sharia law does not belong in our government.”

Back in November 2018, Greene shot another shocking video in which she talked about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In it, she referred to a “so-called” plane that crashed into the Pentagon. Greene continued: “It’s odd, there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.” Additionally, she “liked” a Facebook post that incorrectly stated 9/11 was “done by our own Gov.” Greene said: “That is all true.”

In 2022, Greene spoke at a meeting of white nationalists who support Russian President Vladimir Putin. She feigned ignorance about knowing the views of the delegates—and ultimately refused to apologize for it. “I talked about God and Liberty,” Greene said. “I’m also not going to turn down the opportunity to speak to 1,200 young America First patriots because of a few off-color remarks by another speaker, even if I find those remarks unsavory.”

In 2021, Greene used a racial slur to refer to Asian people while describing the audience at Turning Point USA’s national conference during her speech. “[W]hen I walked in yesterday, I was like, ‘What kind of people come here?’ So I’m walking around and seeing some good people and I see white people, Black people, brown people, yellow people,” said the congresswoman.

Greene was the first open supporter of the QAnon conspiracy theory to win a seat in Congress. Her deplorable campaign was saturated with racist, anti-Semitic and Islamophobic statements. She also publicly supported QAnon, a unverified theory that Trump was fighting a cabal of “deep state” saboteurs who worship Satan and traffic children for sex. It was deemed as a domestic terrorism threat by the FBI. “I’m very excited about that now there’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take this global cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles out, and I think we have the president to do it,” Greene said in a 2017 YouTube video.

In 2017, 58 people were killed when Stephen Paddock opened fire from a hotel room window overlooking an outdoor country music festival in Las Vegas. For reasons no one understands, Greene implied that the mass shooting might have been staged. “How do you get avid gun owners and people that support the Second Amendment to give up their guns and go along with anti-gun legislation?” Greene asked in an online video. “You make them scared, you make them victims and you change their mindset and then possibly you can pass anti-gun legislation. Is that what happened in Las Vegas?”

In 2021, Greene’s legislative term began with her calling for Pride flags to be banned from being displayed at U.S. embassies. “President Biden’s State Department has already raised a flag over our embassies that doesn’t represent the vast majority of Americans,” she stated in a press release, referring to the Pride flag. Greene also said the Black Lives Matter flag represents “a group who wants to erase our history and bring mass destruction to our country through Communism.” Luckily, the legislation went nowhere.

In 2022, Greene called three of her fellow Republicans and the entire Democratic Party pedophilia supporters because they favored confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court. Several Republicans had accused Jackson of light sentences to people who possessed child pornography. However, her sentences were on par with other judges. Greene tweeted: “The Democrats are the party of pedophiles.” She added that Democrats are “the most disgusting, horrible, evil thing happening in our country.”

Following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, Greene chimed in to say that the perpetrator was transgender or gender-nonconforming. She used this baseless reasoning to say that there is an attack on straight people. “They just want you to think that all of a sudden the entire population is steadily turning gay or turning trans,” Greene said on a livestream. “Just generation, generation, generation. ... Probably in about four or five generations, no one will be straight anymore. Everyone will be either gay or trans or nonconforming or whatever the list of 50 or 60 different options there are.”

Greene once accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Nazi-like behaviors after the Capitol Police conducted a routine security check of a colleague’s office. In an interview, Greene said that “Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staff and spying on American citizens that want to come talk to their representatives.” In true idiotic fashion, Greene was dragged for confusing “gazpacho” with “Gestapo.”
