Two alligators bang on a door at a Florida home and social media is going crazy

During a time when she should have been celebrating the success of Ghostbusters, actress Leslie Jones was fighting off racists on Twitter for most of Monday.

Jones was bombarded with tweets comparing her to a gorilla and calling her everything from a n—ger bitch to a man.

As the day went on, Jones’ spirit took a hit, and several of her tweets make you realize that even the funniest person in the world can also get emotional after being mocked:

Jones also mentioned the fact that Twitter does nothing when it comes to racist attacks:

Thousands rallied behind Jones and created the hashtag #LoveForLeslieJ, which included uplifting tweets about the actress. Paul Feig, writer and director of Ghostbusters, stood in solidarity:
