The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has declined a sexual assault case against actor Anthony Anderson after the alleged victim in the case declined to be interviewed by investigators.
The Black-ish star was accused of sexual assault by a woman who catered an event for him. The woman said she met with Anderson after the event to discuss further opportunities to work with him, and that is when the attack allegedly occurred.
The woman filed a report with the Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, and LAPD opened a criminal investigation in July.
Anderson denied the allegation, and a representative for the star told People magazine in a statement, “It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”
Whether the allegations were true or not, the woman declined any interviews after filing the initial report, and because of that, the DA’s office declined the case, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Anderson was previously accused of raping an extra on the set of Hustle & Flow, but the charges in that case were dropped as well.
