There’s one thing people say to never ask a woman, and that’s her age. But when you’re dealing with kids, anything goes. On Wednesday, during the White House’s annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, Michelle Obama took part in a question-and-answer session with children from a local Boys and Girls Club and Washington, D.C.’s Child and Family Services Agency, as well as the children of Executive Office employees.
One little girl, who didn’t bite her tongue, had a question about the first lady’s age.
“How old are you?” she asked.
“51,” FLOTUS replied unabashedly.
Apparently the little girl looked shocked and amazed off-camera because Obama asked her about the face she was making.
“What’s that look?” Obama asked.
“You look too young!” the girl yelled.
When the first lady realized that not everyone in the room had heard the girl’s reply, Obama told someone to give her a microphone.
“You’re too young for a 51-year-old!” the little girl said loudly.
Those are the words any woman would love to hear! Obama then asked the little girl to come up and give her a hug. I’m not sure whose highlight of the day that was, the first lady’s or the little girl’s.
