Literally Everybody (Including You) Helped Kanye West Write "All Day"

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

I was going to post a link to the CDQ version of the song but it looks like its been pulled from all outlets since its not available for sale on iTunes and streaming on Spotify.

Here are the writing credits for this song:

All Day feat. Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom & Paul McCartney

(Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Tyler Bryant, Kendrick Lamar, Karim Kharbouch, Ernest Brown, Cydel Young, Victor Mensah, Allan Kyariga, Mike Dean, Che Pope, Noah Goldstein, Allen Ritter, Mario Winans, Charles Njapa, Malik Yusef Jones, Patrick Reynolds, Rennard East, Noel Ellis)

This list of people includes rappers (French Montana, Kendrick, Cyhi Da Prince, 88 Keys, and Vic Mensa), guitar players, producers, studio engineers, and pretty much anybody else who happened to walk into the studio while he was working on this song and said, "hey, what's that you're saying?"

In my mind, these are all of the people that provided SOME sort of critique but couldn't be convinced to take a pair of the Air Yeezy's citing creative differences (and ewwwwwww), so they settled for the perpetuity of writing credits.

Also, this track is produced by Kanye West, but also such producerial luminaires like Puff and Mike Dean but also everybody else who didn't ask what he was saying, but what he was playing.

Seriously, you should ask for a credit on this song. There's a REALLY good chance you helped create it.

To be fair, Kanye is known for giving folks credit on his albums and considering pretty much everybody as a collaborator. This could be the egalitarian artist in him that likes to cite all of his sources of inspiration. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was basically created amidst a backdrop of a musical bootcamp with dozens of individuals in and out helping to mold the various songs. Kanye creates by committee at this point in his career. This isn't necessarily a bad thing by the way. Sometimes the talent in music creation is recognizing the greater good gained from other voices involved.

But for serious, make sure you got your credit. I'm calling G.O.O.D. offices right now and praying they don't send me the shoes.
