Aurora James

Aurora James is a fashion designer, author and activist who has more than earned her spot on the Root 100 list. You may know her from her luxury brand, Brother Vellies, but James brings more to the table. She launched the Fifteen Percent pledge, asking retail brands to pledge 15 percent of their shelf space to Black brands. James uses her massive social media platform -- nearly a quarter million followers on Instagram -- to reach an audience that cares about fashion and activism.
