Letitia Wright was looking lovely, as usual, at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere in Hollywood on Monday night. Wright is leading the pack in film and fashion and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The 24-year-old Guyanese-born Brit is poised to represent a generation of strong young women who are interested in STEM as much as they are in style.
Wright, who is based in London and worked with Los Angeles intern-turned-celebrity stylist Ade Samuel, wore a double-breasted suit with a tulle overlay-skirting look from Prada’s 2018 fall collection. Samuel told Vogue that most of the styling consultations took place over FaceTime until they hit on the perfect balance of smart and sexy that defines the essence of Princess Shuri, the science prodigy she portrays in the Marvel movie franchise Black Panther.
From Vogue:
“It was important for me to align Letitia with a designer who represents strong women,” stylist Ade Samuel told Vogue of the intergalactic tailoring that took three weeks to come into fruition. An army of “totally iconic” women, including Bianca Jagger, populated Samuel’s mood board. “I love what Miuccia [Prada] does, but I also looked at what Yves Saint Laurent and Coco Chanel did back in the day, because Letitia wanted to represent the fact that young women can look strong and also be smart.”
We couldn’t agree more here at The Glow Up. You’ve got it right, Miss Wright: Smart is the new sexy—and that’s a beautiful thing.
Avengers: Infinity War opens Friday in theaters nationwide.
