He croons like a member of the Rat Pack, and on Saturday night, John Legend celebrated in swingin’ style when wife Chrissy Teigen threw him a belated 40th birthday party based on the James Bond film Casino Royale.
Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance, Aisha Hinds, Amirah Vann, Brandon Victor Dixon, Yvonne Orji, Miguel and Nazanin Mandi, Kim and Kanye (and a few more Kardashians), the “Slay Belles,” and many more gathered at the Legend-Teigen residence, where an epic games night was held under tents festooned with chandeliers and dangling red roses.
To compliment Legend’s dapper style, Teigen outfitted herself in bombshell Bond girl fashion, donning a strapless, sequined, high-slitted gold gown and snake motif choker.
And in case you’re wondering if their adorable little ones were on hand to celebrate Daddy (whose actual birthday was on Dec. 28), both Luna and Miles (also known as “Mini-John”) made appearances during the evening, dressed in their party finest.
To commemorate the evening, Teigen chose to forego a photo booth for a highly-stylized setup that resulted in some memorable moments from the evening.
Another standout from the night? Angela Bassett, who staged a full weekend slay, pre-gaming for Sunday night’s Critics’ Choice Awards in a jet-black dress by Pinko with a matching fur and Stuart Weitzman heels, and 60 carats of sapphires, accented with another 10 carats of diamonds.
From the looks of things, a grand time was had by all, as they danced the night away in honor of EGOT Legend—who remarkably hit that status before hitting 40.
But undoubtedly, it was an exhausting weekend in the Legend-Teigen household, since the couple also showed up and showed out at Sunday’s awards ceremony. According to Teigen, she didn’t exactly pace herself.
