Lee Daniels' Empire was doing Super Bowl numbers in the ratings toward the end of its first season, so Daniels was probably sitting high and fine just waiting to scoop up a nomination for a 2015 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

When that nomination didn't come in—nominations instead went to Taraji P. Henson and Empire's costume crew—Daniels took to Instagram and dropped an f-bomb, presumably directed at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the organization behind the Emmys, since he used the hashtag #emmyniceguyoverwith in his comments.

Jussie Smollett, who is in the video, encourages Daniels to "be nice." That doesn't stop Daniels from saying, "F—k these motherf—kers."

Shortly thereafter, Daniels—probably after getting a few calls from higher-ups over at Fox advising him that it's probably not a good idea to piss off the people at the Emmys—reassured everyone that he was only joking and that he's incredibly proud of his cast and crew who were nominated for Emmys.

That's right, ease yourself out of that one—lest you get blackballed the way you claim Mo'Nique was. Hollywood can be rough.
