Following her recent arrest at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach last Thursday, Gloria James, mother of Miami Heat player LeBron James, is now being sued by Rockfeller Sorel, the valet parking attendant she allegedly assaulted at the posh Fontainebleu hotel.
Sorel is seeking $15,000 in damages for negligence, assault and battery due to the "emotional distress, humiliation, mental anguish, medical care and treatment, the loss of ability to earn money and the loss of capacity for enjoyment of life" he suffered. James' lawyers had no comment.
The alleged assault took place last Thursday morning, after Sorel claims he waited a half an hour for James to get into her SUV as she continued to talk with a friend. When Sorel decided to give her keys to the cashier, James began yelling, "Where are my f—-ing keys?" When Sorel explained that he gave the keys to the cashier, James then allegedly slapped him, causing her to lose her balance and fall over.
Earlier this week, TMZ posted a grainy video of the altercation and called into question how much of a passive victim Sorel — who, according to website, took threatening steps toward James — actually was. Considering how much James' son is worth, it's surprising how little the man is asking from her. But the small amount could have a little something to do with that video.
