LeBron James became the latest star to ride out with The Late Late Show host James Corden for the season finale of Apple Music’s Carpool Karaoke series.
Not only did the Cleveland Cavalier pay tribute to his friend and mentor Jay-Z by performing “Numb/Encore” flawlessly, but he also gave a rendition of Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” and showed his air-guitar and piano credentials when he sang along to “Maniac” from the Flashdance soundtrack:
But it was his old-school performance of “It Was a Good Day” with surprise guest Ice Cube that stole the show. Wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat, AmeriKKKa’s most wanted rapper popped up in the back seat and joined King James for a rap-along of the the feel-good hip-hop classic.
Unfortunately, I don’t have Apple Music because I don’t subscribe to streaming services. I’d rather download my music and play the song I actually want to hear. Plus, I discovered an easier way to have my music selected for me with this secret device called a “radio.” I don’t want an internet algorithm choosing my playlist. I’ve seen the internet before. The internet has shitty taste.
But if you don’t believe in freedom and music equality like me, the full 19-minute episode is available on Apple Music. You can also watch Corden, James and Cube’s performance below:
