LeBron James just verbally punched Charles Barkley in the face. He actually used his words to reach into Barkley’s soul and find that small part where all his insecurities were hiding and crushed him back to a baby. At this point, LeBron James is Charles Barkley’s father.
The beef between the two men started after James recently noted publicly that the Cleveland Cavaliers were going to need more fire power if they wanted to compete for a back-to-back championship.
Barkley, an NBA Hall of Famer-turned-NBA analyst, was pissed at James for wanting more playmakers on a team that already has the highest payroll and includes All-Stars Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. He called James “whiny” and questioned whether he wanted to compete.
Truth is, Barkley isn’t wrong. The one knock on James is that he can be a bit of a baby because he’s the best player in the universe. He’s been instrumental in orchestrating players’ contracts, and I don’t care what no one says, he got David Blatt fired.
So when James was asked about Barkley’s comments Monday, James said, “He’s a hater,” TMZ Sports reports. “What makes what he says credible? Because he’s on TV?”
Then James reached back to slavery and unleashed a verbal ass whipping on Barkley.
“I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James said. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying.
“All I’ve done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way.” he continued. “Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that.
“I’m tired of biting my tongue,” James said. “There’s a new sheriff in town.”
