Fresh from our "Lawd, Jesus" file, a lawsuit has been filed against Jackson Public Schools in Mississippi on behalf of three Murrah High basketball players who say they were physically and verbally abused by coach Marlon Dorsey. Coach Dorsey has admitted to "whipping" students, although corporal punishment has been banned in Jackson schools since 1991. He had to admit to it because he was caught on video "whipping" players during practice. The suit also details other allegations against Dorsey, including invasion of privacy and "intentional infliction of emotional distress." The suit, filed today by Jackson attorney Lisa Ross, also names assistant boys' basketball coach Brandon Sanders, Murrah Principal Freddrick Murray and JPS. Dorsey's status with the school system is still up in the air. This creep still has a job? But, but, but, wait — it gets worse. Some parents think Dorsey should be allowed to coach again. Shaking our heads over here at The Root.
