For those naysayers who gave up on L. Boogie, it's time to switch gears. Lauryn Hill started the New Year with a sold-out performance at the Blue Note in New York City. The Village Voice reports that the show was listed to begin at 8 p.m., but Ms. Hill walked onstage at 11:57. Despite Lauren's lateness, the review of the performance was decidedly positive, a departure from recent write-ups of her shows. "I feel terrible for those poor people who left, both because they missed the show, and because the show itself was actually fantastic," says writer Rob Harvilla.

If you didn't manage to get a ticket to her three-day stint at the Blue Note, all is not lost. Hill has no plans of slowing down. According to her website, after leaving New York City, she'll continue her buzzed-about tour with performances in the Carolinas, Atlanta, Chicago and Miami. Perhaps 2011 will be the decade of comebacks and second chances. Admit it: Maybe we've all been miseducated about Lauryn Hill.
