Former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia Roberson is looking back on her time with the popular singing group.

In a new interview for Addiction Talk, an online talk show hosted by American Addiction Centers, Roberson reflected on how her departure from the group negatively impacted her and ultimately led to her drinking alcohol as a coping mechanism.

“I was a kid and I grew up with my friends. They were the only friends that I had because at such a young age, I wasn’t out there going to proms and doing all this stuff. We were on the road, we were touring, and [they were] the only people you know who are your age. And then it’s stripped away, it’s just a hard thing to deal with. Especially being a child,” she explained.

So it’s no wonder why, years later when she, along with fellow former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé were all reunited backstage during the Houston stop of Bey’s “Renaissance” Word Tour—that moment felt like a long-awaited reunion and was filled with positivity.

“Being able to be back with everybody, we just sat and we just enjoyed each other,” Roberson explained. “There were the kids running around, we were all in different areas, I had my private time with Beyoncé, it was just...everything was wonderful.”

She added, “My highlight of the whole night when it was time for us to depart was when we all stood in a circle and we all prayed together. We all went around and we all said a prayer for one another as we were sitting there. That was really a magical moment. That moment was priceless for me. It was definitely priceless.”

The five of the them would also be spotted again at the L.A.premiere of Bey’s “Renaissance film.”
