The Root Staff Writer Jay Connor told us days ago that “Karma has a GPS,” and it turned out to be more factual than we thought. New reports have surfaced stating that Kodak Black is blaming his most recent legal troubles on his GPS system.

Bill “Kodak Black” Kapri (born Dieuson Octave) was arrested at the Canadian border on Wednesday for possession of guns and weed. While most outlets reported his travels as starting from Canada and driving into the U.S., that’s not exactly what happened. As reported by TMZ via AllHipHop:

The rapper set out Wednesday to drive himself from Detroit to Boston, punched the destination into his GPS, and it put him on the most direct route ... through Canada, NY and onto Massachusetts. The problem for KB, we’re told, is he had no idea he was leaving the good ole U.S of A. We’re told he didn’t realize until he was asked to present a passport, and at that point, there was no turning back ... so they stayed on the route.

Kodak Black was eventually released on a $20,000 cash bond. He is still facing a first-degree criminal sexual misconduct charge involving a teenage high school student in South Carolina.
