On the eve of the State of the Union address, a reminder that we're not all that united: Raw Story is reporting that the Ku Klux Klan is planning a rally in Memphis, Tenn., that it hopes will be the largest the city has ever seen.Â
A leader of the hate group who goes by the name "KKK Exalted Cyclops" (seriously) told WMCTV, "It's not going to be 20 or 30; it's going to be thousands of Klansmen from the whole United States coming to Memphis, Tennessee." Three Confederate names were recently removed from parks in the majority African-American city, but Cyclops says the rally planning was already under way before the City Council announced that decision. In any case, the event is slated to take place in Health Sciences Park, which we're sure members are none too thrilled to hear has been stripped of the name of Confederate Army Lieutenant General Nathan Bedford Forrest.
