Kid Cudi is clearing some misconceptions when it comes to the disturbing home invasion he endured a week ago. The “Day ‘n’ Nite rapper alarmed his fans when the news got out that an intruder had entered his home (while he wasn’t there, thankfully) but that still didn’t ease Cudi’s mind.

Now, on Thursday, the rapper and actor took to X/Twitter to give everyone an update and cut the internet chatter about exactly what happened and who the person was. Posting a lengthy explanation, Cudi made it clear that the situation was no laughing matter and that the invader was a “crazed fan” who allegedly has a history of pulling similar moves against the “Entergalactic” star.

“So I wanna clear this up cause I see the internets running w things and making jokes and this shit is not funny. The person that broke into my house was a crazed fan that has been stalking me for years with out me knowing,” Cudi explained. “He’s been to shows, events I’ve done in the states and overseas. He drove across the country and broke into my house hoping to talk w me about collabing and ideas he had. There is nothing funny about this.”

He went on to express how he felt his privacy was violated and that doesn’t feel safe anymore. He also shared that the “unhinged 34-year-old man” rummaged through he and his fiancee’s personal items , ate his food, and showered in his bathroom all in the hopes of having a conversation with him. (Clearly, that didn’t happen and now, it’s highly likely not going to.)

Cudi concluded, “Im gonna take some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Im not online to see the comments, but word got back to me people are making light of this and its not okay. If im standoffish when u see me in public now, this is why.”

This startling encounter happened all while Cudi and thousands of other residents were battling the devastating and ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles that have seen many families displaced and businesses destroyed.
