In "We can't make this stuff up" news, KFC has reached out to NBA superstar Dwyane Wade about getting his old job back. In response to a series of tweets from the Miami Heat star about his impending unemployment, the fast-food company sent a letter to the Miami Heat offering a position at the local drive-thru. Wade used to work at KFC before his professional basketball career took off.
The fast-food chain told Wade it "couldn't match [his] most recent salary" but would make a charity donation if the hoopster put in some hours at KFC as an "honorary captain."
How cute. We'll put aside our feelings about KFC's treatment of animals and say that we find it hilarious that the fast-food chain would reach out to Wade. Hey, if Academy Award-nominated actors James Franco and Julianne Moore can go back to soap operas General Hospital and the now-defunct As the World Turns for guest roles, then Wade might consider returning to KFC in the interest of charity.
