Let Kevin Hart tell it, and Lady Gaga might've been severely injured at the Golden Globes if he hadn't saved her life.
Hart spilled the beans about the incident during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He could hardly keep his composure as he told the story, so it's a good chance that there's a bit of hyperbole in his version of events. But boy is it funny stuff.
After Lady Gaga gave her acceptance speech for the award for best actress in a limited series or TV movie, she walked backstage and fell. Kevin Hart was one of the presenters who had handed the award to her, so he was there and described how he immediately went to her rescue.
"I had to catch her and while I caught her, I said, 'I just want you to know how big my arms are,' " Hart said.
" 'It could've been bad. It could've been really bad for you, but I saved your life,' " Hart said he told Lady Gaga.
When asked how far she fell, Hart said, "You know I didn't let her go down that far because I'm a hero.
"It could've been brutal," he continued. "We're talking blood, broken bones, but the inner hero in me grabbed her and my instincts kicked in."
