Kevin Hart is giving back to students in his hometown of Philadelphia. The Get Hard star partnered with the United Negro College Fund and awarded four Philadelphia high school seniors $50,000 scholarships for their academic success.
According to Philly.com, Hart was hands-on in the selection process when it came to picking the scholarship recipients.
“This is me stepping up to the plate and saying what you’re doing is dope,” Hart stated. “You’re dope. You’ve got the opportunity to be the dopest of all dopetivity.”
Being the comedian that he is, Hart also joked about where the money could have gone if he hadn’t donated it. “My money went to a much more useful cause than what I would have been doing with it at a strip club,” Hart joked.
The scholarship winners will be on hand at the UNCF’s An Evening of Stars, airing on BET April 26.
