I’m not sure why Kellyanne “Rick James” Conway can’t keep her feet off the couch, but it seems these day that she’s also unable to keep her foot out of her mouth.
Hiyooooooooo!
#NeverForget
During a Monday-morning appearance on CNN, Donald Trump’s senior adviser made a fool of herself—which is starting to become the norm for those answering for this president—trying to explain the fraudulent wiretapping allegations made by President TrumPutin against former President Barack Obama.
After being told by show host Chris Cuomo that the president could make a simple phone call to FBI Director James Comey to declassify information and clear up all of this with proof, Raw Story reports, Conway responded with, “I’m not going to discuss who he calls and who he didn’t call.”
“Sean Spicer did. He said he didn’t reach out to him,” Cuomo said, noting that the wiretap charge is fundamentally different than leaks and should be part of the investigation. “He could answer it himself. He could declassify what’s out himself immediately. Nobody has more power than the president. Yet he hasn’t made a call to [FBI Director James] Comey?”
“Well, look,” Conway began. “I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to say–”
“Sean Spicer did,” Cuomo persisted, interrupting Conway. “We know [Trump] didn’t reach out. Why not?”
Conway tried to put the blame on Comey before being cut off again. “Director Comey can also make a statement. He directed the DOJ–”
“Why would he make a statement, well, first of all he’s going to testify at the hearing. But why would he testify about something that isn’t happening?”
Cuomo then made one of the most salient points of their fuss fight. The administration doesn’t want to admit what everyone with half a brain knows: All of this is a lie that started with a tweet that the administration is refusing to let go of. The time spent on this lie, as Cuomo notes, is merely a distraction from larger issues like, say, President TrumPutin’s ties to Russia.
“That’s my point, Kellyanne,” Cuomo said. “Why would I ask you a question about why my kid went to bed last night? I could make a phone call and tell you what time.
“He can pick up the phone and get this answer!” Cuomo added.
Rick James Conway replied with her flippant laugh as usual and moved the conversation to leaks.
“You realize what the crux of all this is, right?” Conway said, arguing that leaks inside the administration are the real issue. “I hope you as an American are very concerned, as we all are, about the leaks coming from the intelligence and security community somewhere.”
She’s no Mike Pence—who is the Neo in this Matrix of dodging and pivoting on important questions—but Conway is showing that she’s more than muddy heels on a White House couch.
