Riding high on the popularity of the catchphrase she’s become known for, Megan Thee Stallion has filed to trademark “Hot Girl Summer.”

“Hot girl summer” has gone viral as a meme and is being used in marketing by companies such as Wendy’s, Maybelline and Forever 21, Billboard reports.

Megan, who wants to trademark “Hot Girl Summer” specifically for use in products such as clothing and other merchandise, filed the paperwork with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on July 10.

That was the same day, Billboard notes, Megan announced she was “taking this hot girl shit global” on Twitter.

Megan’s effort follows a similar move by Cardi B earlier this year to trademark her signature phrase “Okurrrr.” Authorities ultimately said no, but as Cardi B tweeted in countering critics of her attempt: “Learn how to play in the world we live in;$.”

Looks like Megan Thee Stallion is following suit.
